Who is Expected?

Government leaders, environmental experts, representatives of civil society, and private companies.

This logo was inspired by the Inírida flower, which blooms in the Mavecure Hills, located in the Guainía department, in the Colombian Amazon, one of the richest biodiversity hotspots in the world.

This flower, which has been declared Cultural and Natural Heritage, grows in both dry and rainy seasons. Due to the extreme conditions in which it grows, it has been labeled the “eternal flower”.

Inspired by this quality, the COP16 logo was born through a 100% Colombian creative process. The logo features 36 colorful petals representing the 23 biodiversity goals of the UN and the 13 ecoregions of Colombia prioritized in the National Development Plan.

This flower is Colombia’s invitation to the world to materialize peace with nature.
