What to do in 7 days?

Immerse yourself completely in the culture, landscapes, and gastronomy of Cali with a week full of plans.

Day 1:

Start your visit in the city center. This tour will be key to understanding what drives the people of Cali.

Begin by visiting La Ermita Church. Then walk a few meters to find the Poets’ Park, where besides statues, you will see the famous tinterillos. A chat with them will help
you understand a lot about the culture. Next to the park, you will see the Jorge Isaacs Theater.

Afterward, you will find the River Boulevard, one of the largest public outdoor spaces in the city. Let yourself be carried away by the sound of the river and the music.

While in the center, a mandatory stop is the Cayzedo Plaza, the most representative of Cali, as well as San Francisco Church, the La Merced religious complex, the Enrique Buenaventura Theater, and Escopeta Street. These architectural beauties will help enrich your photo album.

End your day immersed in Cali with a night in the most traditional salsa bars, such as La Topa Tolondra, Zaperoco, or Mulato Cabaret.

Day 2:

The plans from the first day were the perfect appetizer to continue devouring the city on this second day.

Now it’s time for the western zone. Start by visiting the bronze statue of the Spanish conqueror and city founder, Sebastián de Belalcázar, and enjoy the view from this spot.

A short walk will take you to the Aqueduct Park, where you will be surrounded by a lot of greenery and fresh air. Then, continue walking to the El Peñón neighborhood. Take a break in its park.

You will be ready to walk surrounded by trees and birdsong to reach the monument to the River Cat. This sculpture by Hernando Tejada is accompanied by the “gatas,” a series of figures created by various local artists.

End the tour a bit further up, finding the monument that forms the word “CALI.” Take advantage of this spot to capture a memorable postcard.

Day 3:

After two days in the city, the culture will be deeply ingrained in you. Besides the landscapes and iconic places, the chontaduro, pandebono, and guarapo will have had their effect.

The next stop will be the Loma de la Cruz Handicraft Park, a perfect place to buy souvenirs made by dozens of local artisans, see the city from a perspective that connects with the culture, and have conversations. Ask about the legend of the Black Hand.

Walk the steep streets of the San Cayetano neighborhood, then head to the emblematic San Antonio neighborhood. You will find colorful houses and restaurants, some cobbled streets, and many ups and downs. The architecture will transport you back in time, and the path will lead you to the hill, where you will see the church. From there, you can enjoy the view. Eat a corn on the cob with butter and salt.

Before leaving San Antonio, visit La Linterna, the typography that resisted oblivion and continued to show the city to the world with its acclaimed posters.

End the day with a panoramic view of the city. Go to the Christ the King Monument, located 1,400 meters above sea level. This 26-meter-tall statue will welcome you with open arms and will be the perfect backdrop for your photographs.

Day 4:

Now it’s time for the museums. Pay attention because there is a wide variety. Connect with history, culture, and entertainment on the fourth day of your visit.

To make the most of this day, start with the La Tertulia Museum. Explore its exhibitions and enjoy its green gardens.

Then, cross the street, pass the bridge, and you will be at the Obeso Mejía House, whose atmosphere will transport you to the Cali of yesteryear. Take advantage of being in the west to visit the Caliwood Museum, a tribute to the history of cinema. Its extensive collection will leave you amazed.

Then, just a few minutes away, you can learn about 7,000 years of history of the Western Cordillera societies through hundreds of archaeological pieces at the Calima Gold Museum.

End this fourth day in the Obrero neighborhood, where you will find the Salsa Museum, the Chorrito Antillano, La Matraca, and the Piper Pimienta statue in the park.

Day 5:

Start your day very early by climbing the Three Crosses Hill, located 1,480 meters above sea level. Access this iconic spot using the trails. There, you will enjoy the landscape and an incredible view.

When you descend to the urban area, head to the Zoo, where more than 2,500 species, distributed in seven exhibits, await your visit.

After seeing tigers, bears, and otters, we invite you to explore two important gastronomic zones of the city: the Alameda neighborhood, which has a market square with stalls serving traditional dishes, and the Granada neighborhood, where you can access a wide variety of Cali and international cuisine.

Say goodbye to Cali with a night of partying at La Pérgola Clandestina or Cantina La 15, two of the world’s top one hundred nightlife establishments.

Day 6:

We recommend waking up early and heading to the Farallones de Cali National Natural Park. In this protected area, you can do bird watching, hiking, and observe flora and fauna. There are different types of trails, varying in length and intensity, so find the one that best suits your needs.

If you opted for a short hike, take a break and then head to Las Garzas Ecopark, where you can continue enjoying lots of greenery and fresh air while seeing a beautiful landscape.

End the day at Ingenio Park. Here you can try delicious cholados and natural juices under the shade of large trees.

Day 7:

It’s time to wrap up your visit to the city, but there are still many places and experiences to discover.

You can’t leave Cali without doing one of the most culturally rooted activities: visiting the Pance River. Enjoy its clean, cold waters just a few minutes from the urban area of the city. While you’re there, don’t hesitate to try the typical dishes they offer.

After a refreshing bath in the waters of Pance, visit the Botanical Garden. Disconnect by observing its impressive botanical collection and climb to its viewpoint for a beautiful view of the city.

Conclude your visit with a walk through the Dog Park and the San Fernando neighborhood, one of the most diverse gastronomic zones in Cali.
